Lila Wickham

Lila E. (Fuhrman) Wickham, 83, of Staples died on Monday, June 10, 2013 at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN with Father Joseph Korf officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00AM at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Lila was born on November 23, 1929 in Pierz, MN to Otto and Anna (Preiner) Fuhrman. She married Milford (Bud) Wickham on July 6, 1949 in Lastrup, Minnesota. They made their home in Brainerd until 1976 when they moved to Staples. She lived her last 16 months at Riverside Assisted Living in Pillager. Lila worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and Van's Café in Brainerd. She was a great cook and baked many breads, rolls, and donuts-fondly becoming known as "Grandma Donut." Lila was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, loved doing puzzles, going to casinos, and playing bingo, yahtzee, and cards. She always had a large garden and loved sharing the things she grew.

Lila is survived by her 5 children, Ervin (Barb) Wickham of Fosston, MN, Linda (Mike) Sullivan of Brainerd, MN, Ron (Rhonda) Wickham of Fort Ripley, MN, David (Patty) Wickham of Staples, MN, and Paul (Terri) Wickham of Motley, MN; 8 grandchildren, Tamie, Matt, Eric, Amy, Debbi, Rachel, Angie, Josi and Rory; 6 great-grandchildren, Brook, Taylor, Jordyn, Camryn, Tia, and Jake; 2 sisters, Lois (David) Plante and Elie (Dick) O'Donnell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bud; brothers, Ervin, Chuck, and Joe; sisters, Bern, Dorine, Tresa, Edie, and Beatie.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
