Lewis Munson Jr.

Lewis D. Munson, Jr., age 89, of Pequot Lakes, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. He was born to Lewis, Sr. and Sarah (Russell) Munson on September 14, 1925, in Hackensack, MN. Lewis was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a dairy farmer most of his life.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Phyllis; sons: Jim (Sandy) Munson of Cottonwood, MN, Tom (Jeri) Munson of Apex, NC and Dan (Beckie) Munson of Ashland, OH; sister, Sarah Schnieder of Washington; brother, Emmett Munson of Pine River; 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nellie Zacharda; and two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Munson.

Services will be 11 AM on Monday, December 8, at Pleasant Hill Community Church, Pequot Lakes. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pequot Lakes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Pleasant Hill Community Church, Pleasant Hill Cemetery or Camp Jim.
