Lester Lageson, age 89, of Brainerd, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2001 at St. Joseph?s Medical Center. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 17, at the Faith Lilac Way Church in Robbinsdale, MN, with Reverend Peter Lundholm officiating. Friends and family may call at the church for 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minneapolis.
Lester Lageson was born on January 7, 1912, in Ellendale, MN, to John and Ingaborg ?Isabelle? Torgerson Lageson. As a child he moved with his family to South Minneapolis. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, and earned a degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota. He was married to Ina Nordberg in Robbinsdale on May 18, 1935. During the war years Lester worked for General Mills. He left there for an accounting position with a wholesale grocer. He worked in this capacity until his retirement in the 1980?s. Last October, Lester and Ina moved to Brainerd, to be near their family. He loved to golf and belonged to several country clubs. He also liked cars. He was a kind, polite man who loved his family and was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments.
Lester Lageson is survived by his wife Ina; two daughters, Sheila (Bert) Holtan of Las Vegas and Brainerd, and Susan (Mark) Lundholm of Palatine, IL; a son Dean Lageson, at home; 6 grandchildren, Cindy Jackson, Tim, Keith, and Heidi Holtan, and Karl and Alina Lundholm; and 3 great-grandchildren, Sarah and Anna Jackson, and McKinley Holtan.
