Leslie Satre

Leslie Satre, 80, of Brainerd died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at his home. He was born August 21, 1922 in Brainerd, to Ole and Lina (Kopperstad) Satre. He grew up in Brainerd and graduated from Brainerd High School. He served in the US Army Air Force from 1942-1945. He was married to June Rice, his wife of 57 years, in Brainerd on January 11, 1946. The family moved to Vancouver, Washington in 1952. He worked for Del Monte until his retirement. They returned to Brainerd in 1994. He was a member of Christ Community Church in Nisswa. Leslie Satre is survived by his wife June; two sons Michael Satre and Craig Satre, both of Vancouver, WA; a brother Melvin Satre of Tacomah, WA; and three grandchildren. His parents, a sister, and three brothers preceded him in death.
Memorial services for Leslie Satre will be Saturday, January 18, 11:00 AM at Christ Community Church in Nisswa, with Reverend Jim Rogers officiating. Interment will be at a later date, at the Minnesota State Veteran?s Cemetery in Camp Ripley. Memorials are preferred to Christ Community Church. Arrangements are with Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
