Leslie Jillson

Leslie Jillson, age 64, of Ft. Ripley passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, December 29, 2017. Les’s funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at 11 AM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends are invited to visit at Brenny’s during the hour before the service. Burial will follow, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ft. Ripley.

Les was born in Kensal, North Dakota on November 21, 1953, to Vernon and Ruth (Anthony) Jillson. Following school, he enlisted in the National Guard, where he served his country for 20 years. He was married to Betty NeeSmith on November 26, 1980 in Lyons, Georgia. Les was retired from Camp Ripley, where he worked as a federal technician. He enjoyed working on things in his garage, hunting, fishing, and camping. His family meant the world to him, and he loved spending time with them.

Les will always be remembered and missed by Betty, his loving wife of 37 years; his children, Chad (Debbie), Nathan (Jill), Shawn (Sarah), and Megan (Ben); his grandchildren, Shania, Drew, Carter, Isaiah, Lathan, Annabelle, and Gabriel; his sister, Joann Ostrowski; and his brothers, Fred, Erwin, and Billy. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ronald, Gary, and Vernon.
