LeRoy Benjamin Westphal, age 83, of Pine River, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Essentia St. Joseph's Medical Center, Brainerd. He was born to Rudolph and Victoria Westphal on March 28, 1931, in Anoka, MN. LeRoy served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for CW Transport in St. Paul for 30 years. After LeRoy retired he bought several houses then remodeled and sold them. He was a member of Hackensack Seventh Day Adventist Church.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Meta; daughter, Lindalee Westphal-Williams of Lexington, MN; son, Christopher Westphal of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Melinda Williams (Kiel), Myrtis Williams, Spc. Freddie M. Williams IV, all of Lexington, MN; great grandsons: Skyler Johnson, Mikkah Johnson, Eli Johnson, all of Lexington, MN; sister-in-law, Carol Westphal; nephew, Ricky Westphal (Maria); nieces: Diane Westphal, Jan Westphal, Hope Moulton (David), Dawn Halverson (Bill), Candy Westphal; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lola; and brothers, Johnny, Milton and Richard.
Services will be 3 PM on Saturday, February 21 at Hackensack Seventh Day Adventist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
