LeRoy Seefeldt

LeRoy CorkySeefeldt, age 75, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Hospital on Saturday, May 23, 2009. Services are planned for Wednesday, May 27, at 2:00PM at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Steve Sveom officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples. Corky was born on August 26, 1933, in New Effington, SD, to Herman and Martha Seefeldt. At the age of six, his family moved to the Staples area to farm. Corky attended the District 80 school through the 8th grade. Cork started working at Leftys Bar in 1959. on October 22, 1966 he married Betty Esteb and they had two sons. Corky retired in 1993 after suffering from a stroke. He enjoyed camping and fishing. LeRoy is survived by his sons, Steven (Camillee Chaffee) and Kevin (Brenda); 2 grandsons; sister, Marjorie Seefeldt; and brother, Erwin ErdeSeefeldt; as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two half brothers, Freddy and Ken.
