Brown, Leroy C. “Bud” of Baxter Minnesota, formerly of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, at the age of 88 years. Bud was born on August 19, 1931, and passed away at home on October 4, 2019.
Bud is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marilyn, and daughters, Chris, Cathy (Craig) Kassow, Barb (Randy) Van Heel, and sons, Jeff and Matt. And grandchildren, Lisa (Kevin) Kassow, Amy (Michael) Pretzer, Jasmine (Scott) Carlstrom, Robyn (Savannah) Zenoby, Joshua (Kathy) Van Heel, Bethany (James) Allison, Nathan (Nicole) Van Heel, Bill (Pink) Kassow, Alissa (Joe) Byrne, Steven (Yume) Brown, Kayla Brown, Raegan Brown, Leah Brown, and Ethan Brown. And 27 great-grandchildren.
Bud graduated from Washburn High School in 1949. He earned his BS degree in elementary education and his MA degree in education administration from the University of Minnesota. He was employed by Robbinsdale Area Schools for 30 years as a sixth grade teacher and later an elementary school principal at Pilgrim Lane, Sunny Hollow, and Sonnesyn schools. He retired in 1987.
Bud was an avid hunter and also enjoyed traveling, camping, canoeing, salad bars, hors d’oeuvres and spending time with his large family. He was a voracious reader of history and suspense.
In lieu of funeral services, Bud wanted to be cremated and have his ashes scattered at his favorite hunting place.
