Leonore Huff

Leonore Elizabeth Huff, 96, of Brainerd died Monday, December 21, 2009 in Fargo, ND. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 26 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd. Friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to the service. A reception will be held after the service at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN. Memorials may be sent to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN.
Leonore was born November 7, 1913, in Florence, WI, the daughter of Myron and Eva (St. Onge) Huff. In 1930, the family moved to Staples, where she attended high school. After graduation Leonore attended Normal Training and graduated in 1932. She taught in rural schools for five years before attending college in Fargo., ND. She worked as a secretary for many years in Minneapolis and retired in 1977 from Visiting Nurses Service.

Leonore was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Minneapolis, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, and St. Andrews Catholic Church in Brainerd. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of numerous social clubs. Along with her friends, Leonore attended many Elderhostels in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She enjoyed travel and especially loved traveling to Lake Superior to stay with Friends.

Lee is survived by eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence; nephew, Joe; and niece, Phyllis.
