Leonard Larson

Leonard G. Larson, 79, of Pequot Lakes, MN died on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at St. Cloud Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Services for Leonard will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Kedron Cemetery at 11:00AM with Pastor Donna Olsen officiating. Lunch following service at Pequot Lakes Legion Post #49.

Leonard was born on April 25, 1934 in rural Pequot Lakes, MN to Victor and Lois (Shaffer) Larson. He was a 1952 Pequot Lakes High School graduate. Leonard served in the Army Paratroopers during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Japan. He married Mary Hardesty and they made their home in the area. Leonard was a retired union carpenter Local #361. He was a longtime member and past Commander of the Pequot Lakes American Legion Post #49. Leonard was a charter member of 40 and 8, #754. Leonard enjoyed polishing rocks, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was an expert at playing cards and liked spending time with friends.

Leonard is survived by his daughter, Sherrie (significant other, Bo) Franco; grandchildren, John (Mindy), Christine, and Anthony; great-grandson, John; sister, Vera (Wayne) Leek; sister-in-law, Dorothy Larson; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Scott and Kevin; brother, Richard; and very good friend, Anna Bannister.
