Leonard Hall

Leonard L. Hall, age 95, of Staples, passed away at the Lakewood Care Center, in Staples. A Funeral Service is planned for Tuesday, September 25, at 11:00 AM, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, in Staples. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery.

Leonard was born on August 20, 1917, to Henry and Alice (Haugen) Hall, in Staples, MN. He attended school in Staples, graduating from Staples High School in 1935. After graduating, Leonard went to work for the US Postal Service, while also farming. On August 25, 1940, he married Helen Rachow. In 1944, Leonard entered the Army Air Corp, and served for one year. Leonard retired from the post office in 1977, after 44 years. He enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and cards.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 72 years, Helen; children, Dennis Hall of Staples, Roger (Jeri) Hall of Fridley, and Charleen (Mike) Sadusky of Holiday, FL; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Minor, Lois Mertens, and Lorraine Mertens; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Loyd and Lawrence; and a sister Lavina Hitzman.
