Leona Roberts

Leona Louise Roberts was born on May 15, 1910, in Wadena, MN to Henry and Mary (Haase) Bartelt. She grew up and attended school in Wadena. On October 27, 1930, married Richard M. Roberts in Moorhead, MN. They made their home in Wadena until 1944 when they moved to Staples in 1944 where they have resided since. Leona was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Railroad Firemen?s Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge and pinochle.
Leona is survived by 2 sons, Richard (Gladys) Roberts of Staples and John (Connie) Roberts of Sun City West, AZ; a daughter, Patricia (Frederick) Knapp of Dallas, TX; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Her parents her husband, Richard; a great-grandson, Joel Roberts; and 6 brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
