Leona Gretz

Leona H. Gretz, 80, formerly of Kendall, WI and Joliet, IL, died June 25, 2011 at Cuyuna Regional Medical Center Care Center in Crosby, MN. Leona was born August 17, 1930, in Joliet, IL to Vida Jungels and Walter Hoffmeyer. After growing up on a farm, she worked full-time in several occupations, including in police communications in Crest Hill, Il. Leona was active in her communities, particularly churches and schools. She retired to Brainerd, MN, in 2001 following the death of her husband, William J. Gretz. She is survived by her sister, Verna Fox; sister-in-law, Dolores Gretz; daughters (and spouses), Susan Galatowitsch (Mark), Karen Rubado (Joseph); four grandchildren, Mark L. and Diane Galatowitsch and Jared and Abby Rubado; and many friends. We will miss the happiness she brought to us all.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:00 AM, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (301 Spring Street, Kendall, WI) with Father Richard C. Dickman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
