Leon Ricker

Leon Charles Ricker, 86, of Browerville, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral Services for Leon will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 28, 2011 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall. Family and friends are welcome to visit Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall and one hour prior to services on Monday. Interment will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Camp Ripley with a lunch to follow at the Randall VFW, Post 9073.

Leon was born June 21, 1925, in Park Rapids, MN, the son of Earl and Pearl (Broadbent) Ricker. He served in the US Army. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Hanson on September 3, 1947. The couple moved to the Browerville area in 1964. Leon farmed and worked for Land-O-Lakes. He enjoyed playing cards and was in a club for many years.

Leon will be missed by his wife, Geraldine; his children, Malcolm, of Browerville, Julianne (Gary) Parkos, of Staples, and Douglas (Heidi Ishgaki), of Browerville; sister, Doris Kirsch, of Circle Pines; brother, Dean Ricker, of Spirit Lake, IA; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three great-grandchildren.
