Leo Hines

October 2, 1936 — May 11, 2015

Leo Hines, 78, of Brainerd, died Monday, May 11, 2015 at Good Samaritan Village - Bethany. Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, May 13 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment will take place at the Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.

Leo was born October 2, 1936, in Brainerd, the son of Clarence and Mary (Carner) Hines. For more than 47 years Leo drove a cement truck for Lakeland Redi Mix. In 1955, he married Karol Wolhart and the couple raised a family of seven children. Leo enjoyed racing, especially snowmobiles and stock cars. He liked to be outdoors. He spent time with his family ice-fishing and camping. He was always game to play cards. Leo will be remembered as a man with a kind, happy and free heart.

He will be missed by his wife, Karol; children, Terry (Marge) Hines, of Nisswa, Brian (Joan) Hines, of Brainerd, Julie (Mojo) Mjolsness, of Pillager, Angie Hines, of Pequot Lakes, Millie (Gordon) Wright, of Brainerd, Derek (Beth) Hines, of Pillager and Russ (Jen) Hines, of Brainerd; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Violet Borders, of Brainerd, Dorothy Pickar, of Brainerd, Marie Thompson, of Brainerd, Emil Hines, of Brainerd, and Butch Hines, of Brainerd. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Clifford Carner, Donald Lyons, Marion Hines, and Clayton Hines.
