Lena E. Meyer, 90, formerly of rural Motley, died Wednesday evening (10/17/01) at the Foley Nursing Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 22nd at St. Michael?s Catholic Church in Motley with Father Tim Wenzel officiating. Burial will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. Relatives will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 PM, with parish prayers at 6:15 and Rosary at 7:00 at the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
Lena E. (Conrad) Meyer was born on March 26, 1911 in Maryville, Missouri to Charles and Mary (Colt) Conrad. On February 11, 1933 she was united in marriage to Edward H. Meyer in Maryville, Missouri. They moved to the Motley farm in the Fall of 1947, where they continued to live and farm and raise their family. Lena was a member of St. Michael?s Catholic Church in Motley.

Lena is survived by; three daughters, Lucille Scheiterlein of Staples, Darlene (Don) Hendricks of Bloomington, Donna (Charles) Hinrichs of Blaine; five sons, Eugene (Norma) Meyer of Avon, Lawrence Meyer of Staples, Edward (Bev) Meyer of Brainerd, Gerald (Barb) Meyer of Forest Lake, Louis Meyer of Brainerd; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Susan Langer of Swanville, MN, Chubby and Agnes Vick of Delano and Louis and Marge Meyer of Missoula, Montana; thirty-six grandchildren; forty six great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandcild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; son, Donald; infant son, John and three grandsons: John, Loren and Dennis. Casketbearers will be the grandsons: Kevin Scheitlein, Ricky Meyer, Bill Meyer, Todd Johnson, LeRoy Hendricks, Ron Hendricks, Eric Meyer, Matt Meyer, John Meyer, and Dave Meyer.
