Lelias Chapman

Lelias E. Chapman, age 98, of Staples, MN, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at the Greater Staples Care Center. Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2001 at 2:00 PM, at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples with Reverend Wayne Hoffert officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Verndale, MN. Friends may call Friday, from 6 to 8 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Home in Staples.
Lelias Ethel Chapman was born on June 2, 1902, near Bertha, MN, to Edward and Adelia (Zimmerman) Davison. She married Fredrick Chapman on April 20, 1919 in Ottertail County, MN. The couple lived in various places in the area, including Staples, MN. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Staples. She has touched many lives, but now she has gone home with our Lord Jesus? we will miss her.

Lelias is survived by her daughters, Vivian (Howard) Mayland and Ruth Pierce; her son, Emerson Chapman; 2 sisters, Agnes Horn and Floretta Richardson; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; a daughter, Florence; a son, Charles; and 9 brothers and sisters.
