Leland (Lee) Schultz, age 90, peacefully passed away on January 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn, son Donald Schultz, granddaughter Melissa Genereux, parents Emil and Anna, sister Leona, and brother Lenny. Leland was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured by his daughter, Barbara Genereux (Stephen), Daughter-in-Law, Shelli, and his adoring grandchildren, Christa Moen (Joseph), Chad Genereux (Melissa), Erica Genereux (Benjamin Dixon), Jacob Schultz (Katelyn), Joshua Schultz, and great-grandchildren Taylor Moen, Alexis Moen, and Aaliyah Dixon.
Born on February 6, 1933, in a small town in Murray County, MN, Leland's family moved to a farm in Brunswick when he was young. He attended school in Mora, MN, graduating in 1950. He later met his wife Marylin, and together they moved to Maple Grove, MN, where they raised their children Barbara and Donald. Leland pursued his passion for drafting and became a skilled draftsman, working at McQuay and later retiring from TL Systems. Even after retirement, Leland's love for fixing things remained strong, often spending time at garage sales where he would find items to repair. However, his greatest joy came from being with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories.
Leland called Maple Grove home for over 50 years, creating a welcoming and loving environment for his family. However, at the age of 88, he embarked on a new chapter and moved to Crosslake, where he resided at Whitefish at the Lakes Assisted Living. Despite the change in scenery, Leland's spirit remained vibrant, and he continued to bring joy to those around him.
In remembering Leland Schultz, let us celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the profound impact he had on our lives. His legacy of love, unwavering support, and resilience will continue to inspire us all. May we find solace in knowing that he is now reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him, and may his memory be a guiding light in our hearts forever.
A graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2024. More details will be forthcoming soon.
Arrangements are entrusted to Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Crosslake.
