Lee Kalisch, age 82, of Staples passed away with his family by his side Friday, February 24, 2017 at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis
Lee Wesley Kalisch was born March 17, 1934 in Staples, to Adolph and LaRoe (Alden) Kalisch. He was united in marriage to RoseMarie Trout in Philbrook, in 1954. Lee worked as a chef on the railroad for 42 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and wild ricing. He loved going to auctions, and enjoyed selling pumpkins and miscellaneous items. Above all, he enjoyed time spent with his family.
Lee will be missed by RoseMarie, his wife of 62 years; his children, Marie (Rick) Busch, of Clarissa, Sharon (Dan) Hagenson of Staples, Shirley (Craig) Norwood, of Riverside, CA, Darlene Weibye, of Clarissa, and Judy (Mike) Tichy, of Henning; his grandchildren, John, Jackie, Valerie, Michael, Amanda, Dustin, Megan, and Adam; his great-grandchildren, Dominic, Kaija, Kole, Bryce, Jorja, Roman, Ava, Kody, Mariah, and Mason; his sisters, Grace Altringer, Lois Trick, Maryann VanHoever, and Karen Nurnberger; and his brothers, Charles and Raye. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; and a sister, Eleanor Steinmetz.
Visitation Wednesday, March 1, from 4-7 pm, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at the church.
