Lawrence James Dill, age 73, of Brainerd, Minnesota died on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 in Fargo, North Dakota. Services will be on Saturday, February 2, 2002 at 1:00 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Reverend Rory Swenson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 31 from 5:00 ? 7:00 PM and 1 hour before the service at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter.
Lawrence James Dill was born on April 12, 1928 in Crete, North Dakota to Bert and Clara (Kraig) Dill. He was raised on the farm in Crete and attended and graduated from Oaks. In 1954 he was united in marriage to Mae West. Following his marriage he farmed and worked at Melroe in Gwinner, ND. They moved to St. Paul, MN in the early 60?s. On June 24, 1965 he was united in marriage to Annamae ?Gloria? Harkins in St. Paul. They lived in Roseville where he worked in construction and belonged to the carpenters union. They moved to Brainerd upon their retirement 10 years ago, and spent their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. He was recently planning to move to Sidney, MT. He enjoyed traveling, and was an excellent finish carpenter.
Lawrence is survived by 2 daughters, Carmen Parks of Sidney, MT, Marcy Froemel of St Paul, MN; 5 sons, Larry Dill of Sidney, MT, Gary (Dorothy) Dill of Big Lake, MN, Bill Harkins of Vadnais Heights, MN, Gene Harkins of Vadnais Heights, MN Chet Harkins of Fresno, CA; 3 sisters Marge (Carl) Eschenbacher of Baxter, MN, Irene (Lawrence) Larson of Verona, ND, Lorene (Doyle) Woodward of Billings, MO; 1 brother DuWayne Dill of Crete, ND; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His 1st wife Mae, 2nd wife Annamae, 2 sons, Michael Harkins, Craig Dill and his parents preceded him in death.
