Lavonne Seipkes

Lavonne Seipkes, 87, of Staples, MN died Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. Services for Lavonne will be 1:00PM, Friday, July 20, 2018 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, with Pastor Daryl Jacobson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM, to the time of service. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Lavonne was born August 13,1930 on the family farm in Ellsworth, MN to Fred and Catherine (Heikes) Klooster. She married Donald Dirks and they had two children; Donnell and Lavina, before his passing in 1953. Lavonne was united in marriage to Vern Seipkes on December 28, 1955. They moved to Staples in 1957 and had Pam. Lavonne was a member of the Staples Congregational Church and a Charter member of the Staples Lions 93 Club. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, crossword puzzles and playing games and cards with her children and grandchildren.

Lavonne is survived by her three children, Don (Mary) Seipkes of Henning, MN, Lavina Seipkes of Staples, MN, Pam Seipkes of Staples, MN; grandchildren, Chad, Josh (Molly), Grant, Abby (Ryan), Chris (Rachael), Ben (Joanna), Kathy; great grandchildren, Isaac, Tyler, Ella, Alivia, Reggie, Alaina, Andrew, Alexis, and Cy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Catherine; husband, Vern; two sisters, Catherine and Valoris. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
