Lavonne Kahler, 92, Brainerd, died Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Brainerd, MN. A Memorial Service for Lavonne will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, September 3rd at Park United Methodist Church, Brainerd, with visitation for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Center Creek Cemetery, rural Granada, MN.
Lavonne Warriner was born on November 5, 1926 at home in Silver Lake Township, Martin County, near Fairmont, MN, daughter of Howard and Clara (Brown) Warriner. She spent her early years there, until moving with her family to Granada in 1934. She graduated from Granada High School in 1944. She then attended the Minneapolis Business College for clerical and bookkeeping. She lived and worked in Fairmont at the Fairmont Public Utilities until returning to Granada. She worked in the Accounting Department at Martin County Social Services for 32 ½ years before retiring. She lived in Fairmont until 2007, when she moved to Baxter, MN. Lavonne enjoyed traveling the world, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her daughters: Susan Kahler of Brainerd, MN and Debra (Tom) Sampson of Baxter, MN; two grandchildren: Jamie Sampson of St. Louis Park, MN and Phillip (Jessica) Sampson of Brainerd, MN; a great grandson: Reef Sampson; and a brother: Lawrence Warriner of Granada, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents: Howard & Clara Warriner; siblings: Mildred Bloome, Marie Wood, Ralph Warriner, and Eldon (Jerry) Warriner.
