Laverne Hendrickson

Laverne Carol Hendrickson, age 74, of Crosslake, Minnesota passed away Saturday, July 21, 2001 at Hennepin County Medical Center. Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Crosslake. Memorials preferred to Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research.
Laverne Carol Hendrickson was born December 7, 1926 in Montpelier, ND, daughter of Phillip and Rose (Heer) Skattum. She attended and graduated from high school south of Adrian, ND. She taught in the Montpelier school system until her marriage to Ivan Ira Hendrickson on June 2, 1946 in Montpelier. They moved to Valley City, ND and Cooperstown, ND, where Ivan was a State Highway Patrolman. They moved to Bismarck, ND in 1955. During the 25 years that they lived in Bismarck, she worked for Provident Life Insurance and ND Teachers? Retirement Association. They purchased a home in Manhattan Beach in 1973, where they moved to when Ivan retired in 1980. Laverne was a member of the VFW Auxillary; she enjoyed gardening, woodworking and antique collecting.

Laverne is survived by her husband Ivan; 2 daughters Colleen Gorder of Brainerd; Renee (Durl) Drakulich of Centennial, CO. and 4 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Raymond.
