LaVaune Mae White, 78, of Staples, MN and formerly of Motley, MN, died Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples, MN. A Celebration of Life for LaVaune will be held from 1:00-3:00PM, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN, with a time of sharing at 1:30PM. A light lunch will be served following the sharing at the Brenny Funeral Chapel reception room.
LaVaune was born April 13, 1936 to Ray and Irene (Kominek) Skeesick in Cushing, MN. She graduated from the Motley School. LaVaune was united in marriage to Dairien White on October 9, 1954 in Motley. LaVaune worked as a secretary for the Motley School system while raising her four daughters. She and Dairien co-owned and operated the El Ray truck stop until their retirement. LaVaune was a member of the Motley Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, going to the casino, bowling, playing cards and country music.
LaVaune is survived by her husband, Dairien; children, Cindy (Bob) Sorenson of Staples, MN, Suzanne Fuller of Tuba City, AZ, Lori (Brad) Schmidt of Maple Grove, MN, Darcee (Tim) Bell of Pillager, MN; siblings, Lois Frisk of Motley, MN, Lana Hansen of Motley, MN, LeAnn Larson of Motley, MN, Ronald (Jeannie) Skeesick of Hackensack, MN, Gary (Cynthia) Skeesick of TX, Randy (Molly) Skeesick of Motley, MN, Keith (Deb) Skeesick of Pillager, MN; sister in laws, Karen Skeesick of Brainerd, MN, Sharon Harrison of Stillman Valley, IL, and Joan (Ron) Gajewski of Duluth, MN; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Loretta and Lorraine and one brother, Byron. Memorials are preferred by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
