LaVaughn Shaw

LaVaughn Shaw, 82, Brainerd, died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Woodland Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd. LaVaughn was born on July 4, 1923 at Plattsmouth, Nebraska daughter of the late Emil and Vera (Moore) Hild. She assisted her husband with L.W. Distributors for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Hackensack. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, fishing, boating and was past secretary of the Women?s Bowling League in Pine River.
LaVaughn Shaw is survived by her daughter, Linda Layman, of Baxter; her son, Bob (Clare) Shaw of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; daughter in law, Gloria (Keith) Leonard of Baxter; brother, Bruce (Laura) Hild of Bellavista, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Jolie (Ryan), Robb, Tim, Beau, Shawn, Andy; and two great-grandchildren, Emily and Tommy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harry Ward; her son, Denny; her son-in-law, Wayne Layman; and twin sister who died at birth,.

Services will be Saturday, September 24, 2005 at 2 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter with Reverend Barb Christenson officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
