Laura Pankratz, 83, of Staples, died at her home Saturday, September 15, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN with Father Joe Korf officiating. Family and friends are welcome to visit one hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Evergreen Hill Cemetery.
Laura was born July 26, 1929 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Eleanor (Kasper) Scott. She grew up in the Staples Area and on February 14, 1956 was united in marriage to Richard Pankratz. Laura liked to spend time in her garden, especially growing roses. She sewed, cooked, and did needle point. Laura had varied interests - from tap dancing to politics. Laura was dedicated to her family and enjoyed raising her children and making their house a home. Her children and grandchildren were the joys of her life.
She will be missed by many. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Pankratz; sons, James (Wanda) Pankratz and John Pankratz; grandsons, Matt and Chris; sister, Eleanor (Louis) Hanson; and brother, Don (Janice) Scott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; grandson, Jeffrey James Pankratzl and brother, John (Doreen) Scott.
