Larry Koepp

Larry “Papa” Koepp, 71, of Rice, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by family on Thursday, January 20, 2022. Funeral services will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at New Life Church of Foley with Pastor Nick Benson. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services as well as on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 4-8 pm, at New Life Church of Foley. Interment will take place at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Larry “Papa” was born on August 12, 1950, in Winner, SD to Norman and Helen Koepp. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969 and served for over 20 years. Larry retired as a Master Sergeant. He was married to Margaret “Peggy” Montag in 1971, and together they had three children. He enjoyed wood working, fishing deer hunting, squirrel hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family. His favorite holidays were the 4th of July, where he hosted an annual get together, and Easter with his annual Easter Egg Hunt. Larry “Papa” will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy “Granny”; children Pam (Greg) Thell, Becky (Troy) Killinger, James (Jacqi) Koepp; grandchildren Kyle (Emily) Thell, Keith (Emily Rose) Thell, Kevin Thell, Rachel (Sam Jerome) Killinger, Taylor (Luke Lorenz) Killinger, Piper Koepp, Jamos Koepp; great-grandchild Rhys Thell; brother Norman (Beverly) Koepp; and  brother and sister in laws Eileen (Gary) Steffes, Margie Winter, Rose (Loren) Jost, Tom (Maryls) Montag, Sue Emslander, David (Betty ) Montag, Steve (Lisa) Montag, Jean (Steve) Bemboom, JoAnne (Bruce) Brenny, Theresa (Chris) Goenner, Mary (Todd) Lambrecht, Jeff (Judy) Montag, Alan (Jeanne) Montag, and Randy (Laura) Montag.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Helen Koepp; in-laws Roman and Dorothy Montag; brother Charles Koepp; sister Evelyn Burton; brothers-in-law Dennis Emslander, and Jerry Winter.
