Larry Killian

September 24, 1943 — November 2, 2016

Larry Killian, 73, of Staples, MN passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, after battling an infection at the St. Cloud Hospital for the past two weeks. Services for Larry will be 1:30PM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Church of Christ in Staples, with Pastor Barry Klein officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM Friday, November 4 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, with a prayer service at 6:45PM and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples, MN.

Larry was born September 24, 1943 in St. Paul, MN to Floyd and Martha (Walters) Killian. As a young child, his family moved to Philbrook where his father started Killian Sanitation. He worked with his father in the family business, later taking it over. Larry was united in marriage to Betty Kmetz in 1966. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, cooking, grilling and traveling. Larry was a snowbird the past six years, spending the winters in Arizona. He especially loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his three daughters, Debbie (Harold Shequen) Killian of Staples, Darlene Hoemberg of Staples, Carrie Killian of Bullhead City, AZ; brother, Harlan (Myrna) Killian of Staples; grandchildren, Cassandra Bennett, Matthew Bennett, Trevor Hoemberg, Brandon Hoemberg, Cody Hoemberg; six great grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and brother, Jerry Killian. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
