Larry Kiel

Larry Kiel, age 61, died Sunday, September 9, 2012 peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Breezy Point, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 14, 2012 at St. Alice Catholic Church in Pequot Lakes, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather from 5-7 PM Thursday evening at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Pequot Lakes. Interment will be held at Pelican Woods Cemetery.

Larry was born on April 18, 1951 in Milaca, MN to Laurence and Lillian Kiel. He married the love of his life, Denise Patnode, on September 11, 1970. The couple moved to the Breezy Point area in 1973, where Larry owned and operated a plumbing business for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a writer, but most of all Larry loved being surrounded by all of his "girls".

He is survived by his wife, Denise; daughters, Sarah (Derek) Schladweiler, of Otsego, Leah (Lisa Peters), of Winnipeg, Canada, and Amber (Brandon) Peterson, of Crosslake; beautiful granddaughters, Alexis, Avery, and Ashlyn; father, Laurence Kiel, of Milaca; sister, Linda (Rhonda King) Kiel, of Kentwood, MI; and brothers, Tim (Jeanne) Kiel, of St. Cloud and Tom (Kris) Kiel, of Milaca. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian; brother, Harlen; and stepmother, Donna.
