Larry Holmberg

Larry Holberg, 76, of Motley, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 24, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on December 14, 2024, at Motley Free Methodist Church. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Larry was born on December 18, 1947, to Armin and Lyla (Schmalz) Holmberg in Springfield, MN. He graduated from Motley High School, and in 1971, he married Candi Johnsen in Sisseton, SD. Larry spent many years serving as the Head Custodian at Motley High School, and also operated his own meat cutting business. In his free time, Larry enjoyed farming, deer hunting, visiting the casino, and tending to the flower gardens started by Candi 

Larry is survived by his children Dawn (Jason), Darin, and Tim (Christina); grandchildren Levi, Emma, Taiya (Grant), Dalton (Emily), Emma (Trevor), Alex, Lilly, Levi & Emma; great-grandchildren Colter, Brynlee, and Jett; siblings Janet, Dean, and Theresa; and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.

Larry was preceded in death by the love of his life for 47 years, Candi, and his parents.

Larry will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. Arrangements have been entrusted with Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
