Lambert Clarence Koepke was born January 26, 1918, in Lake Elmo. He moved with his family to North St. Paul as a child. Following the early deaths of both his parents, he joined the Conservation Corp, where he served two terms. He then enlisted in the US Army, and served as a supply sergeant during WW2. He was united in marriage to Virginia February 13, 1943, in Vancouver, Washington. Following his military service the family returned to Minneapolis and then to Bloomington, where Lambert owned and operated a cement company. After selling his company in 1962, he worked as a block layer for EP Gunderson until his retirement in 1982. Lam and Virginia had been vacationing in Crosslake for many years and moved there full-time after retirement. Retirement did not mean leisure for Lam, who spent his time working on his two lake homes, constantly remodeling, adding on, and doing yard work.

Lambert is survived by Virginia, his wife of 61 years; his son, Larry (Dianna) Koepke, of Eagen; a brother, Elmer Koepke, of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Kelli Clausen and Kenneth Koepke; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen and Elizabeth Clausen and Madison Koepke. His parents; a brother, Irvin; and two sisters, Elvira and Gladys, preceded Lambert in death.
