Kurt Hoffman, Jr.

Kurt Hoffman, Jr., of Outing and Baxter, passed away at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd on Thursday, January 26, 2017, two months short of his 89th birthday. His memorial service will be Saturday, February 4, at 11 AM, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Baxter. Visitation will be during the hour prior to the service.

Kurt was born March 26, 1928 in Robbinsdale, to Kurt, Sr. and Ann (Mester) Hoffman. He was married to his childhood sweetheart, Donna Jean Mielke, on October 1, 1949. Ten years later he moved with his family to Outing, where they owned a grocery store until 1982. Kurt loved beyond words living in Outing, where he could hunt and fish.

Left to remember Kurt are his wife, Donna; his children, Barbara (Robert) Oberg, Kurt III (Richard Omann), Kathy, and David (Kathy); seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lewis; and a sister, Ann Schaar. Services entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service of Baxter.
