Kurt Dullinger, age 58, of Pillager passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at St. Cloud Hospital. Kurt’s Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd, with Father Paul Strommer officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 30 from 5-7 p.m. at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, and will continue at the church on Friday during the hour before Mass.
Kurt was born on June 22, 1960 in St. Cloud, to Delvin and Lillian (Palmersheim) Dullinger. He grew up in St. Stephen and graduated from Sartell High School in 1978. He attended Bemidji State University, studying Conservation. He was united in marriage to Yvette Marie Adelman on November 24, 1995 in St. Stephen. Kurt worked in construction; following an earlier fall from scaffolding he concentrated on being a finishing carpenter. Cabinetry, furniture and trim work were Kurt’s specialty. A lover of the outdoors, Kurt enjoyed hunting, fishing and working barefoot in his garden. He raised rabbits and birds, including ducks, geese, pigeons, turkeys, quail, peacocks, pheasants and Olde English Game Bantams; he won many awards for his aviculture and belonged to several poultry and game bird organizations. He was a volunteer firefighter with the St. Stephen fire department for 17 years. Above all, Kurt was a man with great zeal for his faith. He was proud to be a Catholic and was actively involved with his church’s “This Man Is You” men’s group, bible studies and the Knights of Columbus.
Kurt will be deeply missed and always remembered by Yvette, his loving wife of 22 years; his parents Delvin and Lillian Dullinger of St. Stephen; siblings: Denise (Steve) Libor of Anoka, Keith Dullinger of Milaca, Rick (Cathy) Dullinger of Hillman, Gary (Sherry) Dullinger of Staples and Brad (Gina) Dullinger of St. Joseph; and many nieces and nephews.
