Kevin Hummel, born on December 25, 1957, to James and Edith (Hanus) Hummel in Minneapolis, MN, passed away on February 18, 2025, in Crosslake, MN.
Kevin attended Elk River High School where he met and married Jean Adam on February 14, 1976, at the St. Pius X Church in Zimmerman, MN. They would go on to move to the Brainerd lakes area in 1986, where they could enjoy nature, boating, and being on the lake. Kevin was able to travel the world through his various jobs in sales, his favorite destinations being Europe and Saint Martin. He loved racing Formula One, “real racing”. He was a foodie, enjoyed trying new regional foods and pairing wine, but always enjoyed a good steak with a scotch and a cigar. He never wanted to miss the Annual Family Smoketober Fest. Kevin enjoyed blues music and he and Jean would attend the Blues Fest in Duluth every year. He was also very disciplined in fitness and would walk every day, regardless of the weather. Kevin’s family and his Catholic faith were the most important things in his life, “God, wife, kids, and everything else falls into place” was how he stated his priorities. Family time was very important to Kevin and his “cousin dinners” were a highlight.
Kevin is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jean; children, Angela Hummel, Nicholas (Amy) Hummel, Natasha (Joshua) Deneau, Marc Hummel (and his sweet pet, Rambo); grandchildren, Ethan, Collin, Sophia, Zoey, Violet, Eloise, and Fitzpatrick; sister, Lisa (Paul) Poirier; brother, Keith (Linda) Hummel; and many cousins, nieces, nephews.
Kevin is preceded in death by 3 unborn children, 2 unborn grandchildren, and his parents.
