Kevin Hondl

Kevin Lee Hondl, 70, of Baxter, MN, passed away peacefully on August 6th in his home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 24, 2024 at 11:00am at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the start of the service. Military Honors will be presented following the service, and lunch will be served.

 Kevin was born on July 13, 1954 in Dickinson, ND to Albert and Effie Hondl. He was raised and worked on the family farm, where he developed a lifelong interest in tractors and combines. After graduating from Dickinson High School, he served in the Army overseas in Germany.

 He attended Moorhead State University, where he met his wife, Deanndra. They married on August 18, 1979 and had three sons. They made their home in Baxter, MN. He worked at the Potlatch Paper Mill in Brainerd for many years, returning to school to obtain a degree in Radiologic Technology. He worked as a Radiology Technologist at Essentia, retiring after 16 years. He was active in supporting his sons’ Boy Scout activities. He also enjoyed gardening, traveling, pheasant hunting and could never pass a Dairy Queen without pulling in for a quick treat. Throughout his travels with family, he always made time to try local foods and engage in conversations with those he’d meet.

 He is survived by wife Deanndra Eschenbacher-Hondl, sons Royce Hondl, Blake Hondl (Sara Park) and Alex Hondl, mother Effie Hondl, siblings Kurt (Marilyn) Hondl, Tamra Dukart, Keith Hondl, and Kerry (Sundi) Hondl. He is preceded in death by father Albert Hondl and brother Kenneth Hondl.

 Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
