Kevin Cassady

Kevin Cassady, age 59, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 27, 2018. His memorial service will be on Saturday, January 5 at 3 p.m., at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral home from 1-3 p.m.

Kevin Leslie Cassady was born on March 6, 1959 in Bemidji to Chuck and Rose (Stauty) Cassady. He grew up in Osseo and graduated from Anoka High School in 1977. He went to work as a pipe layer in the metro area. He was married to Terri Benson in Minneapolis on August 3, 1990. He worked for the Eden Prairie Public Works Department for 15 years. Following the family’s move to Brainerd, Kevin worked as head of the Baxter Public Works Department for 14 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Lakes Area, was a great cook, and had a gift for making people laugh. He truly valued spending time with his family, and they knew that he was always there to love, support, and encourage them.

Kevin will be remembered and missed forever by his beloved wife, Terri; his children, Taylor (Matt) Ricke of Rice and Laura (Nate) Smolke of Brainerd; his grandchildren, Brett and Chase; his mother, Rosemarie (Chuck) Cassady of Otsego; and his siblings, Steve (Peggy) Jacobson of Portland, Oregon, Kathie Elton of Bemidji, Greg (Kathy) Cassady of Forest Lake, and Kelly Cassady of Otsego.
