Kevette Thompson

July 31, 1953 — February 12, 2018

Kevette Thompson, 64, of Ottertail, MN passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Services for Kevette will be 11:00AM, Friday, February 23, 2018 at Motley Free Methodist Church in Motley, MN, with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Thursday, February 22nd at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Kevette was born July 31, 1953 in Duluth, MN to Richard and Klouina (Stevens) Pride. She grew up in Motley, MN and attended school there. Kevette was united in marriage to Roger E. Thompson on May 12, 1969 in Sisseton, SD. They lived on the family farm in Motley, then moved to town for a few years before moving back to the farm from 1976-1999. Kevette and Roger moved to Perham where they owned and operated the Jungle Shores Resort until 2003 when they moved to Dent where they lived until 2016, before moving to their retirement lake home in Ottertail. Kevette enjoyed crocheting, fishing, jigsaw puzzles, Legos, and collecting pigs. She especially loved spending time with her 19 grandchildren.

Kevette is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Roger E. Thompson; daughter, Tracy Thompson of Staples, MN; sons, Shane (Michelle) Thompson of Fort Ripley, MN, Skipper (Lynda) Thompson of New York Mills, MN, Jason (ReAnn) Thompson of Hewitt, MN, Todd (Maria) Thompson of Perham, MN, Cory (Amber) Thompson of Williston, ND, Micheal (Tara) Thompson of Ottertail, MN; 19 grandchildren; brothers, Richard Pride of Motley, MN, Michael (LuAnn) Pride of Bloomington, MN; sister, Christi (Neil) Allen of Motley, MN; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Klouina Pride; an older sister, Shelley and an infant daughter. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
