Kermit Wink

Kermit Wink, 82, went to be with his Savior on July 7th, 2019. Kermit was born July 27, 1936 to Henry and Gertrude Wink in Fox Lake, MN. Kermit married Carolyn Jean Titus on August 6th, 1963, while Kerm was stationed in Columbia, South Carolina. Kerm served our country as a Sergeant for six years in the US Army.

In the past, Kerm had a love of flying his own plane, spending time with his dogs, and making sure he fixed everything himself (and teaching his sons the right way). Kerm worked as an operations manager at the Westgate Mall for 13 years. He enjoyed his precious time with family and especially his grandchildren. Kerm loved to fish, hunt, and spend time outdoors. He had a sense of humor while keeping a straight face. Tables were turned on him when Amber’s step-dad Scott called him to come over to help with advice on a tractor. Upon arriving at Scott’s house, the tractor was covered with a tarp. When the tarp was removed, Kerm smiled from ear to ear looking at his tractor that looked like it was brand new and spent the aftrernoon driving his new old tractor and posing for a bunch of pictures. Kerm spent his last days in Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Hospital with family, each taking turns holding his hand and sharing fond memories.

Kerm will be dearly missed by Jean, his wife of 55 years; Wade Wink, son, and his wife Amber; Kermit (Nick) Wink, son; grandchildren Elaina (Nick) Boettcher of St. Paul, Jesse Hale of Arkansas, Brianna Wink of Drayton, ND, Arianna Wink, and Skyler Wink of Brainerd, and many friends and family.

Kerm is preceded in death by both parents and his brother Melvin Wink.

Visitation will be held at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN on Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 5-7 PM. Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2019 at First Baptist in Baxter. Visitation will be one hour prior. Committal service will be 1 PM Friday, July 12, 2019 at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
