Kent A. Rees, 84, of Emily, MN died Friday, March 15 in Brainerd, MN

 A celebration of life will be held in Cross Lake, MN on Saturday, April 20. Visitation starts at noon with a service at 1:00 followed by a lite lunch. Brenny Funeral Home and Chapel, 13782 Cty Rd 36, Crosslake.

Kent was born August 29, 1939, and grew up in Des Moines, IA. Kent and Nancy were married in 1962. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1963 and they moved to Philadelphia, PA. Kent and Nancy started their family in Philadelphia and eventually moved to St. Paul, MN where he started his career and earned his Master degree at the University of MN in environmental health. After 44 years at the U of M Kent and Nancy fulfilled their dream of retiring and moving to Emily, MN where they enjoyed the community and the solitude of Anna Lake.

 Kent was preceded in death by his wife Nancy. He is survived by his three children Scott (Denise) of Prior Lake, Carol of Stanchfield, Craig (Patty) of Minneapolis, his three grandchildren Shelby (Noah), Ashley (Nick), Cameron (Elizabeth), and his 9 great grandchildren.
