December 11, 1920 — July 26, 2017

Kent Edward Johnson, Jr., 96, of Edgewood Vista, Brainerd, entered his eternal home Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

The April 14th Celebration of Life has been rescheduled for Friday, April 20, at 3 p.m., at Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery near Little Falls. The family appreciates your flexibility and was concerned for travel plans and safety with the inclement weather approaching.

Kent was born December 11, 1920 in Mahtowa, MN. He was the son of Kent Edward Johnson, Sr. and Florence Eugenia (Thompson) Johnson. Kent enlisted in the US Navy in San Diego, CA. After his discharge, he followed a career in cement finishing and real estate. He was a family man who loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family reunions were a great favorite. Kent was an avid golfer, claiming the prestigious title, “King of the Hill” a number of times. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and building birdhouses. He was especially admired for his talent in raising beautiful roses.

He will be missed by his wife of 75 years, Imogene (Jeanee) Johnson; children, Dianna (Allen) Jenkins and Kent E. (Wendie) Johnson, III; grandchildren, Scott Jenkins, Todd Jenkins, Laura (Jenkins) Middelstadt, Kelli (Johnson) Weaver, and Christopher Johnson; and six great-grandchildren, Katrina Jenkins, Krista Jenkins, Alexander Ansari, Alyssa Middelstadt, Avery Johnson, and Kaitlyn Middelstadt. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Everett, Herbert, Charles and Donald.
