Kent Allan Heinlen, 45, of Brainerd, passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. A Celebration of Kent’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 17, 2018 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are welcome to gather Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Chapel and again, Friday morning one hour prior to services. Interment will take place at Baxter City Cemetery.
Kent was born September 5, 1972, in Brainerd, the son of Richard “Rick” and Diane (Swankier) Heinlen. He was raised and educated in the Brainerd Lakes Area and graduated from high school in 1991. For over the last 20 years, Kent owned and operated Heinlen Flooring, LLC. He was proud to be Grand Elbow #11. Whether playing games in the back yard, taking in some Vikings or NASCAR action, or grilling up some burgers, Kent loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed country music and feeding the ducks.
He will be missed by his children, Cory (Chelsea) Heinlen, of Brainerd, Jacob Heinlen, of Brainerd, and Ryan Heinlen, of Brainerd; his mom, Diane Heinlen, of Brainerd; grandma, Bette Swankier, of Remer; brothers, Jeff (Cindy), of Baxter and Paul (Mindy), of Baxter; girlfriend, Darcy Rakow, of East Gull Lake; his beloved dog, Tucker; and many other family and friends, including aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his dad; his paternal grandparents; and maternal grandfather.
