Kenneth Allen

Kenneth Wayne Allen, 74, died Monday, August 23, 2004 at his home in Cushing. Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday, August 30 at Cushing Baptist Church in Cushing with Pastor Mark Erickson officiating. There will be a visitation Sunday afternoon from 3-5 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Randall.
Kenneth Wayne Allen was born February 25, 1930 just south of Gordon, Nebraska at his family home. He was the son of the late Oscar and Doii Ann (French) Allen. He was united in marriage to Mary Florence Johns on September 7, 1950 in Valentine, Nebraska. Kenneth worked in the sand hills of Nebraska on the Neilson Ranch from 1950-1956. He then worked on another ranch in Batesland, South Dakota from 1957-1959. He moved with his wife and family to Minnesota in 1960 where they resided on a dairy farm until 1962. In 1962, they bought a farm in Cushing, Minnesota. Kenneth continued to farm, but also worked at Larson Boat Works. He retired from Larson Boat works in 1995. He loved farming and never retired from it. He loved to have his family close and his dog by his side.

Kenneth is survived by his three sons, Thomas Allen, of Newport, Neil (Christi) Allen of Motley, John (Lisa) Allen, of Randall; two daughters, Kathleen (Mike) Babb, of Pillager, Linda (Steve) Johnson, of Motley; two sisters, Hazel Bridge, of Cushing, Irene Snyder, of Billings, MT; two brothers, Oscar (Junior) Allen, of Cleburne, TX, Ronnie Allen; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one very special friend and companion, his faithful dog Chief. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary; his parents; his sister, Twila Stratton; his sister, Helen Allen; his brother, Arthur Allen; his brother, Bernard Allen; one infant sibling; and his granddaughter, Kristine Babb.
