Kenneth "Russell" Tucker, 81, of Brainerd, MN died on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at his home. Funeral Services for Russell will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 11:00AM at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Brainerd, MN with Pastor Jeff Scoggins officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church.

Russell was born on October 4, 1933 in Carthage, Illinois to Kenneth E. and Edna E. (Swenson) Tucker. After graduating from Carthage High School in 1951, Russell attended The University of Illinois and Quincy Business College. He then attended Carthage College before entering the United States Navy, as a medical corpsman. After his duty with the Navy, Russell was the head of Central Supply at Eitel Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. Russell enrolled as a student at the University of Minnesota where he received his degree in education. Before retiring, Russell taught with the Onamia school district for 26 years. After his retirement, he then worked for nine years at Almost Home in Brainerd, MN. He enjoyed fishing, stamp collecting, gardening, photography, and liked playing music on his auto harp.

Russell had a deep relationship with God which was a very important part of his life. He went on numerous mission trips around the world. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Brainerd, MN.

Russell is survived by his wife, Ivy; sons, Chris (LaRena) Tucker and Jeffrey Scott (Lynda) Tucker; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Edna. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
