Kenneth Toso was born on January 14, 1920, in Lisbon, ND, to Conrad and Elizabeth (Mucho) Toso. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Maplewood Township, north of Fergus Falls, where he was raised on the farm and went to country school. He was united in marriage to Alice Bugbee on September 17, 1939. Ken entered the United States Army and served in World War II. Following his discharge in 1945 Ken and Alice lived in Fergus Falls and Ken worked at Minnesota Motors. In 1951, Ken and Alice moved the family to Minneapolis where Ken began working at Honeywell, continuing for over thirty years, working between the Minneapolis and Washington, D.C. locations, while raising a family of five children. His hobby was buying, working on, and selling cars. Following the death of his wife and upon his retirement, Ken spent a lot of time attending family events and working on many projects with his children and grandchildren. Ken moved to Garrison, MN, in July of 1989 where he immediately became the town's Mr. Fixit. Ken was an active member of the Garrison VFW. He was instrumental in the rebuilding of the Blue Goose and became a partner, after it was leveled by fire in 1993. He met his special companion Agnes Loechler at this time. Ken and Agnes spent many years traveling during the winter months visiting Ken's brother's and sister's and Agnes's children. He and Agnes moved to Baxter, MN, in October 2001, continuing to travel and attending events with family.
Ken is survived by his loving companion Agnes Loechler, his children Jerry (Candi) Toso of Coon Rapids, Jean (David) Lorentz of St. Michael, Janice Tadych of Aitkin, Sheldon (Susan) Toso of California, and Stephen (Shelly) Toso of Prior Lake; siblings Lorraine Kantrud, Conrad "Gene" Toso, Norman "Huntz" Toso, and Richard "Dickie" Toso; eleven grandchildren, many great-grand and great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
