Kenneth Richardson

Kenneth Richardson, 88, of Staples, MN was called to Christ on Monday, April 23, 2018. Kenneth passed away at Lakewood Health System Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00AM, Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, MN with Father Joe Korf officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7PM, Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and also one hour prior to services at the church. Interment with Military Honors by Motley American Legion Post #124 will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.

Kenneth was born August 2, 1929 in Winona, MN to Clarence and Helen Richardson. He served in the US Army and was Honorably Discharged. Kenneth and Kathryn King were married on October 11, 1949 in Winona, MN-they were married for 65 years. They moved to Staples in 1969, where Kenneth worked at Benson Optical for 39 years until his retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples, American Legion, VFW, and was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed helping out at church, hunting, fishing, doing yard work, playing cards, sports, and spending time with his family.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Christine Colsen, husband, Swede and their five sons; daughter, Nancy Lamusga and her six children; son, Michael Richardson, wife JoAnne and their two children; daughter, Kathryn Blessing and her nine children; daughter, Joni Oberloh, husband Darrel and their three children; son, Tedd Richardson, wife Brenda and their six children; daughter, Lisa Richardson-Emola, and her two children. He was blessed with 26 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Kathryn. Kenneth will be greatly missed but forever loved. Services have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples, MN.
