Kenneth Dickinson

Kenneth E. Dickinson, 64, of Pillager died on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at St. Cloud VA Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A Memorial Service for Kenneth will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 at Living Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Shore, MN at 10:00AM. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter from 3:00-7:00 PM. Interment will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Kenneth Edward Dickinson was born on June 4th, 1948
to Richard and Irene Dickinson in St. Cloud, MN.
He was the fifth of thirteen children.

Kenneth served four years in the United States
Air Force and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was the former Waite Park Chief of Police/
Rescue Squad and Emergency Services Director
from 1970 until his retirement in 1999.

Kenneth was employed by the Crow Wing County
Sheriff's Department as a 911 dispatcher and seasonal
water patrol deputy from 1999 to 2009.

Kenneth spent 18 months in Afghanistan, where he
served as an international police advisor for
Dyn Corp International, a government subcontractor.

From 1989 to 2000, Ken served as an
adjunct faculty member at St. Cloud State University.

Kenneth was named director of security and safety
compliance at Central Lakes College in April, 2009.
He enjoyed working with all the employees there until
his final days in May, 2012.

In 1978, Kenneth acquired a bachelor's degree in
criminal justice from St. Cloud State University
while working as a police officer. He earned his
Master's degree from St. Cloud State University in
1989.

He was a Sylvan Township supervisor and is actively
involved as an elder at Living Savior Lutheran Church.

Ken loved spending time with his family and friends.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to
sit by a campfire.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his
mother and father-in-law and his siblings: Killian,
Keenan, Kathy and his irish twin, Kevin.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Dianne, daughter
Tammy Dickinson (Scott Holt), son Scott (Jennifer)
Dickinson, and grandchildren Caden Holt and Piper
Dickinson.
