Kenneth Aker

Kenneth Daryl Aker, age 68, of Backus, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2016, at North Memorial Medical Center, Robbinsdale. He was born to Alvin and Jennie Aker on December 2, 1947, in Wadena, MN. Ken graduated from Backus High School in 1965. He married Linda Richards on July 15, 1972. Ken was a longtime Parts Manager at Olson's Custom Farm Services and a longtime member of the McKinley Township Board. He was a meticulous gardener and lawnkeeper and enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Ken is survived by his wife, Linda; children: Melissa Koering (Jerry), Kent Aker (Stephanie), Christina Cestnik, Danielle Horton (Tracy), Eric Aker (Brittany Petersen); brothers: Leroy Aker (Sharen), Rodney Aker (LaRene), Pete Peterson; sister, Janice Crimmins (Alan); grandchildren: Jennifer, Shantel, Alyson and Mariah Koering, Kaden and Reagan Aker, Jayda Gackstetter, Jesse and Jera Smolik, Owen, Josie and Vincent Cestnik, Brent and Kaylee Horton.

Services will be 2 PM on Saturday, June 18, at First Lutheran Church, Pine River. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
