Ken Roach

September 3, 1938 — November 15, 2013

Kenneth R. Roach, 75, of Apache Junction, AZ, passed away November 15, 2013 peacefully in his sleep.

A special dual memorial will be held at noon on December 7, 2013 at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter honoring the lives of both Kenny and Paulie Roach. Before her passing in June of this year, Kenny and Paulie agreed that they wanted their memorial and celebration of their lives to be held together for all to attend - in one place at the same time. Kenny and Paulie loved their family and friends and spent many days at play with them making a lifetime of memories. Their family asks that you attend this memorial service prepared to share a short story. Refreshments and lunch will be served after the service.

Kenny was born in Crosby MN on September 3, 1938 to Glen and Carmen Roach. He attended school in Crosby Ironton.

Kenny Roach exemplified the title "Jack of all trades". In his lifetime he learned to build houses, do plumbing and electrical work, fix cars, trucks, boats and anything that rolled or floated. He painted houses and welded sprinkler pipes, he flew airplanes and drove oil trucks. He started and ran his own successful "Kennys Oil Company" in Merrifield and sold it to retire in Arizona only to start his own construction company and keep on working into his 70's. In those many years of hard work there was also time made to spend with friends and family on the many fishing and hunting trips. There were elk hunts in the high country of AZ and Halibut trips in Alaska, goose and pheasant hunts in the Dakotas and fishing trips to Highwinds Lake in Canada. But, the one thing he loved most was the time he could spend flying in his Super Cub. He one time delivered a plane that he sold all the way to Anchorage Alaska. He flew that plane from Brainerd to Anchorage and that was long before GPS!

Kenny is survived by his sons, Mitchell (Mary) Roach, of Savage, MN and Charles Roach, Dalbo MN; his grandchildren, Cole and Madeline Roach; sisters, Nancy (Raymond) Maghan, Barbie (Kenny) Hilton, Julie (Roger) Higgins; brother, Gary (Beverly) Roach; many beloved nieces and nephews; and he will be missed dearly by his faithful, but spoiled, dog Jake. Kenny was preceded in death by his wife, Paulie Roach; parents, Glen and Carmen Roach; and his brothers Richard, Robert and Jim Roach.
