Kathy Sickle

Kathy A. (Peterson) Van Sickle, 51, of Brainerd, died Friday, January 24, 2014 at her home. A memorial gathering will be held from 1-3PM, Wednesday, January 29 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Interment and Prayer Service will take place later this spring at Gull River Cemetery. Memorials preferred.

Kathy was born July 7, 1962, in Brainerd, the daughter of Harold and Irene (Fisher) Peterson. Following high school graduation, Kathy worked for local companies, most recently she was employed by the Brainerd Daily Dispatch and Arby's. Kathy liked to cook, play games, watch TV, read, and listen to music. She also enjoyed taking in nature - watching and feeding animals. Family was the most important part of Kathy's life - she cherished all her family, friends and pets. There was always a special place in her heart for loving husband and best friend, Jody and her special pet, Cooper. Kathy also adored her Aunt Joan who was always there to help - she was more like a mother, than an aunt. She also appreciated the neighbors and friends that were there to lend a hand.

She will be missed by many. She is survived by her husband, Jody; sister, Joanne Bandemer; brother-in-law, David Barry; nieces, Kelly and Penny; nephew, LeRoy; niece, Rhonda Hope; niece, Jodi (Kevin) Meyer and their family; many cousins; and aunt, Joan Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LaVonne Barry and Mary Hope; and special uncles, Roger Peterson and Henry Fisher.
