Kathy Kinney

Kathy Kinney, 69, of Baxter, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at CentraCare Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. Services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Family and friends are invited to gather Thursday evening from 5-7 PM at the Brenny Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services Friday morning. Interment will be at the Baxter City Cemetery. Reception to follow at Heritage Assembly of God in Baxter.

Kathy was born May 21, 1943, in Brainerd, the daughter of Oscar and Ella (Clabo) Eggerud. In 1960, after high school, she married Arnold Kinney. Kathy and her husband opened Kinney's Café in downtown Brainerd soon after and owned and operated several restaurants in their early years. She also enjoyed baking, crafts, camping, and traveling. Kathy loved to have fun, to laugh and care for family.

She will be missed by her children, Scot (Vicky) Kinney, of Lakeshore, Brad (Tonya) Kinney, of Pillager, Jeff (Kris) Kinney, of Williston, ND, Jason Kinney, of Baxter, and Wade (Kari) Kinney, of St. Cloud; sisters, Irene Postle and Beverly Pittman; brothers, Vern Eggerud and Milo Eggerud; fifteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; parents; brothers, Donald, Watson, and Lee; and sister, Lois.
